By the bottle at Le Petit Alep in Montreal. Needs to breathe for sure but once it opens up it’s quite nice. Very Burgundian nose, cherries, sous bois, slight baking spices. Palate is perfect, sour cherry, brambles, intensity, beautiful balance and good length. Decant this bad boy and pair it with some lamb or sausages (or anything really). Delicious stuff.

I've had the '18 and '19 relatively recently and this reaffirms that this wine only gets better after 10+ years. The flavor of this wine is massive while remaining lithe on the tongue. Loads of ripe black cherries, rhubarb, and strawberry. On the palate; ripe plums, carrot juice, forest floor after a good rain. We drank half, stoppered it, then came back 2 days later and it had morphed into a 1er cru burg. Cassis, perigord truffle and dirt. Soft silky tannins. Outrageously good wine.

After more than a few sub-par bottlings from recent vintages, this helped me remember everything I love about Lapierre. Nice medium body, full of spicy red fruit and a nice acidic snap. A serious wine that's fun to drink.

Initially some reduction, but it's also brimming with lively red fruit and an energy in the mouth that almost brings this wine to life. What a fun wine!
