  • A lot more bricking than the bottle I had last year. We drank this over 5 hours and it held up nicely. The Premium Selection line has changed a lot since 96; this was good [well priced] juice. If you have any, I suggest you enjoy them soon. That was my last. Farewell my friend, it was fun.

  • The tip of the cork was absolutely black. The wine is deep red "inky" in color with abundant, long slow-moving legs. Very fruity with berries (raspberries), pepper, ripe cherries, subtle mint and a strong oak and vanilla bouquet. This is a big, bold wine with a bit of a creamy feel on the tongue. Oak and pepper jump out at you with cherries, and vanilla on the finish. We tasted it on its own initially but a glass did pair well with a seasoned steak. Going back to it after dinner and the vanilla seems more pronounced on the nose and tongue. It seems pretty well balanced and I would guess it is as good as it is going to get, if not already a bit past. I have one more and am wondering what excuse I can come up with to open it up. We are giving this one a 92.
