Opened the bottle previously accessed by Coravin. Delightfully expressive of place. Clay, red fruits, and appealing nuance throughout. Classy, precise, and showing more than a little rusticity. This bottle had several years of life ahead. High QPR.

Coravin access, tasted alongside the same vintage Leoville Barton.
Elegant perfume of red fruits and berries, summer potpourri, clay, loam, and 'sweet' herbs.
Compact yet generous. The forward delicateness gives way to deceptive power at the middle and back. Caressing finish of considerable length. Likely to be at its best by 2028.

Much more developed than our last tasting almost three years ago. Paired nicely with roasted beef. Good core of juicy dark fruit with high toned red fruit and subtle green notes. Drink 2022-2026. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

This is so much better than my last bottle, which I now confirm was flawed. Dusty red fruit, balance and finesse, smooth and well integrated tannins, with a crisp and refreshening finish.

Leaner and more austere compared to my previous experience, particularly on the first day. Enjoyed a glass or two over a few hours and recorked. Considerably more forward on the second day. Fine typicity, balanced, but not quite as generous. A bit too oaky for such a light vintage. Drink or hold.
