Thursday night with the group at Riviera Decanted for one hour Pure terroir, lots of barnyard with black and red fruits. Showing muscularity and depth. Nice combination of fruit and tertiary aromas This wine is in a very good spot now

At home on a Sunday night solo No decant just opened and left it breathe for 30-45 min while I finished my gin and tonic Oh boy what a nose!! Big earthy, touch of barnyard pungent nose in a good way Dry on the palate with a nice balance of fruit Very Burgundian For the price this one is a keeper Drink within the next 5-7 years

750. Maturing disc, fairly deep robe. Extremely powerful nose of asphalt, rubber tire, smoke so strong that it's difficult to assess what else is going on. I'm sorry to compare this to a Pinotage I drank once. Rather awful for my taste. Fullish body, tannic, a bit flabby. A rich finish. Just really not to my taste. Others liked this more. Will go for years yet.
1.5/5

Started out stemmy, spritzy, and disjointed. It settled down with time in the glass, but never impressed to the level of other 1999s we've had recently.

1999 Red Burgundy Tasting: Tasting, brief note. Very forward and accessible with fresh red fruit aromas and spice hints. Very pleasant and enjoyable if not prototypically Pommard.
