The nose shows its age but the palate remains 13 years young. Aromas include some Marcona almond nuttiness, lime pith, apricot flesh, white peach, cinnamon, and caramel apple. Medium bodied, this is super smooth texturally with a significant depth of acid that starts broad and narrows into the finish, leaving a Granny Smith apple sensation after everything else has exited. Flavors include the aforementioned Granny Smith apple, orange marmalade, loads of lime zest and flint minerality, gooseberry, and grapefruit. This is still fairly primary and has the acid to go further distance. I opened this earlier than I'd planned, and I think my original forecast of 2025+ is sound. 2030 could be quite interesting.

Somewhat in between the previous two bottles in terms of evolution. Not as crisp and bright as the last bottle, showing it's age a little more, especially on the nose. Still lots of acidity, very mineral, intense and powerful. Super-long finish. 92-94

After a much more evolved bottle last year, today’s was consistent with my earlier experience with this wine. Slight evolution in colour, but not overly dark/golden. Exotic fruit on the nose, herbs, crushed stones, quite bright. On the palate really vibrant, fresh, very very mineral with generous fruit. None of the bitterness/medicinal notes some FX Pichler wines seem to be developing around these years (mainly from 2011) Near perfect balance and great length. 95-97

Glass: Zalto Bordeaux Perfect bottle, popped and poured, drunk over two days. Clear, deep golden color. Clean, medium+ developing nose. Lots of exotic fruit, mineral notes, herbs and at the beginning with some band aid notes. Dry, high acidity that is not 100% perfect integrated. 13,5% abv. Sweet fruit, very mineral, some zests, bitter notes. Dense, creamy, deep, very good tension. Long, fruity finish. Potential for another decade. 92-93

Intense wine, full of acidity and bitterness of line, grapefruit, orange zest, geen pine-apple and peach kernel. Really dry, as well. Complex, both on the nose and on the palate, salty, mineral, oriental spice and a lovely touch of eucalyptus. Great with a chunk of Gorgonzola Dolce and crackers.
