Opened let it rest and served. No decanting and it didnt need it. (2 bottles on the day and consistent) The nose is classic Pinot, red fruit, earthy. On the palate it is quite balanced, round. Maybe more of a premier than a grand cru, but still good quality, pure, elegant and very enjoyable. Would have loved some more complexity. 91-93 from us. Drink now.

I have to say it has been many years since I ventured into Gordon's wine bar. This is the oldest wine bar in London and still has the wonderful dungeon like basement. The have a nice range of every day drinking wines and a couple of eccentric wines on their "specials" list. This was one of them which they price and a very low silly amount.
Now back to the wine.
It is a wonderful grand pinot with a quite a strong colour for a wine of this age. The nose has a wonderful slightly sweet hints of red cherry, earth and flowers. The mouth has a beautiful round pleasant balance with some tannin still there but no harsh notes.
A really wonderful wine

This bottle showed much better than the first one opened last summer. Very nice aged Burgundy.

Very nice Bourgogne, well made, good QPR but nothing to rave about. Finish was disappointingly short, given the former notes. Drink now.
