Always enjoyable. Took about 3 hours of bottle breathe to properly open up. Plenty of dark fruit, cassis, graphite & gravel minerality. Supple tannins with pronounced acidity.

Nez avec beaucoup de finesse, fruits noirs et rouges. En bouche, ampleur moyenne. Tout est bien équilibré et balancé. Beaux tanins. Tout en rondeur. Finale chaleureuse. Belle longueur. Très agréable

Annual Caroling & Chili Party (R&D's): This was given a brief decant- about half an hour- before it was put in the lineup. Opens with a terrific earthy funk under black and red fruit tones. Medium tannins with flavors of red berry fruit, clay, forest floor and cigar box. Really blossomed over the course of the evening and amped up the fruit and tobacco nuances. Drinking surprisingly well for being so young and having just a brief decant. (J&S)
Decanted for about six hours and tried it and realized it needed some more time. After about 10 hours the tannins had softened and it was definitely a lot more enjoyable and interesting from when I first opened the bottle. It was at its best at about 12 hours. Obviously this wine is still on the young side and it will be at its best in about 5 years time.
It really is a good wine as one would expect. Top Bordeaux Chateau and top vintage.
Typically, this wine is available at my local wine store for $89 but there is a sale going on and it is at $59. I think at $59 it is about right. I wouldn’t pay $89 for this wine.
