black fruit preserves and savory nuances. Tobacco and damp earth. Blackberries, roasted figs. Very dark and brooding. Did not get the classic pencil lead. Great now but will great for another 20 years. I have one bottle left and will open it for the next solar eclipse in 2044. The 2024 solar eclipse was today.

VINTAGE 2010 Dinner (Galletto Ristorante, Modesto Ca.): This wine is GORGEOUS...and would normally be the standout on the table, but was bested by a couple Cali wines...the 10 Screaming Eagle and MacDonald! All three very similar...the PC was velvety smooth...dark berried fruit with dried concentration...creme de cassis, pencil lead, new leather, wood barrel spiced tannins...more new world with sweeter fruit, yet lovely licorice and graphite dryness...has that Bordeaux seamlessness, fine grained...super tasty and engaging. Loved it!

Still pretty close to perfection. Wrote a note earlier, so this is an add-on. Bit more cherry/dark chocolate/leather. Still absolutely amazing.
Had it in the decanter for 3h and that continuously made the wine better. Keeping some in reserve is certainly worthwhile. There is a lot of potential left.
