BYO Litteraturhuset (Litteraturhuset i Oslo): Lys strågul. Imponerende ungdommelig alderen tatt i betraktning! Flott match til sesongens første hvite asparges

Loads of green Sauvignon Blanc aromas mixed with loads of oak. But the result is good. Very aromatic, generous, rich and concentrated. More impressive than complex, though.

I have had so many negative experiences with old white wines from Bdx that it is crossed fingers I open every bottle. And then how nice it is to find a bottle in pristine condition! Verging on golden yellow, but also with green tones at the rim. Full bodied nose with tons of apricot fruit complemented by orange, grapefruit, and a clear mineral tone in the vein of slate and petroleum. A tone of black olives emerges after a while in the glass. Full bodied, sweet apricot fruit at first, then a woody dryness with a clear olive stone bitterness. The finish is dry and fresh, dominated by olive tones and a fine bitterness. A wine for food, maybe a bit heavily oaked, but impressive given the age. A proof of the longevity of good white Bdx.

Very Sauvignon Blanc on the nose, with green (pyrazine) aromas. Also some ripe apples and blackcurrant bush. Full bodied and quite oily in the mouth.
