I'm afraid this was an awkward bottle. Mostly Pinot fruit shining through with an apple cider palate. Not a lot of complexity here but it made a nice beverage. I don't think I can 'score this' very well. Interesting and intriguing but not a traditional Champagne of usual character.

Last bottle of a mixed purchase from M. Beaufort in 2009 following one of our most interesting visits ever to a producer. Outstanding. Deep gold in colour, small bead, rich in texture but fresh.

A really lovely champagne. Quite a dark golden colour. Lots of crushed strawberries with hints of honey, caramel and savoury notes. Very full bodied with lots of substance. Lush. Definitely lots of pinot Noir here (100%). Medium to delicate bubbles. This for me is at is peak. Would drink now. Shared by SW at Cilantro

From memory, @ Mugaritz. Our 2nd champagne. This was a different champagne to me. Leaner and more delicate than I had expected given its age. Also, aroma profile was different than much of the champagnes I have had to date with the fruit clearly leaning towards the tropics. Light florals, peaches and hints of apricots and pineapple. Mild autolysis. Flat wine, which I did not mind. Fun experience that I also quite enjoyed. 92p

Good but not great. Seemed a little too acidic (Apple Cider Vinegar) so maybe the bottle was flawed or just over the hill.
Otherwise a fine champagne, but disappointing for the price.
