First half hour starts off super primary ripe fruit, but this subsides after just half an hour in the glass. I get a nice earthy nose and something I've picked up in other ~10 yo burgs of modest pedigree, which is almost like the inside skin of a roasted chestnut. I think that's just an association that's unique to me.
Anyways, nice acidity and finish, medium body, drinking pretty well but the initial primary fruit attack makes me think this can rest for plenty longer if needed. Nice for the price.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #077; Round the Corton hill in Burgundy (By BD): The bouquet offers slightly sparkling cherry flavors in the beginning followed by earthy impressions and some development. The palate is a bit dusty with also juicy red fruits, earthiness and a good concentration. Good acidity and youthful tannin and some drying bitterness. Needs a bit more time. Probably best between approx. 2016 and 2018

burghound sweet spot 92pts......um...... sorry not here......tasted this wine 3x's with similar results. Imediate scent() like kicking your foot along a forest floor and getting the dust and soot in your nose, fennel, clay and chalky notes, soft red fruits showing up for a cameo appearance. Tart immediately, but overtime this subsides. On the palate you find a good dose of acidity, getting some oak and cran-strawberry. A bit too much heat on the finish. Not sure this is up to snuff for 1er cru status. Not a bad wine by any means, just not overly memorable. Drank out of a riedel black tie grand cru class burgundy glass, the only way to drink burgundy. The same wine poured into a stolze burgundy glass clearly did not offer up the same aromatics.

Not the most elegant wine but there's some complexity in its rusticity. Blueberry, Cinnamon stick and limestone. Earthy, woody, foresty. Can take some time laying down as it is still a bit chalky but the finish is full of mineral notes. Excellent wine.

Rich and complex with a fascinating but mysterious "underflavor" I can't quite identify. Really outstanding.
