  • Drunk over three nights. Lanolin dominated night one (a positive for me). Subdued night two. Night three, everything comes together, more prominent acidity, a wonderful showing.

  • Deep straw in color. Those of lanolin, pit fruit, peach, and a hint of banana. Taste of pith, lanolin, ripe peach and apricots. A pleasant bitterness that balances the slightly noticeable residual sugar. Lovely balance and mouth feel. Delightful wine that will probably gain some complexity in the near term but in a great drinking window now. Drink now and over the next seven years.

  • Ever so slightly corked, methinks. Surprisingly not bad considering, but the remainder, alas, has a date with my kitchen sink.

  • This bottle is excellent right now, offering a deft counterpoise between acidic tartness and well-integrated, evolver residual sugar - reminiscent of a very good, mature MSR wine but with more body, corresponding to the higher ABV. Flavors shade towards the predictable pit-fruit tones but, again, with a very deft touch. Served very cool, a really nice aperitif or pairing with a salty starter (or cheese course). A slight candied quality, which - speaking as one who generally dislikes sweet wines - works only to the good.

  • Needs a bit of air time - presents too smooth and sweet at the outset - but then excellent, with a trim, elegant profile, some minerals, RS recedes till beautifully balanced with the acidity. Brilliant.
