One of the most delightful WA whites I've had in awhile. Full-flavored with racy acidity, the 40% viognier's apparent but lifted by the lighter, lemony 40% roussanne and 20% gruner veltliner. Great mouthfeel--terrific minerality and only a light touch with the oak keep it stylishly clean. Sadly, was told today that the Subduction label is being discontinued (there's also a red).

41% Viognier, 39% Roussanne, 20% Gruner Veltliner. Pale gold. This delivers the delicate aromatics one would expect from this blend, but it also adds a spiced orange peel note. Medium bodied. This shows a layered palate with pear, a little green banana and a dash of salinity/minerality. The GV adds an acid component missing in many of these white Rhone blends. Especially domestic versions. Good length- refreshing wine.
This normally has Chardonnay instead of the GV and is not usually my favorite Syncline bottling. The GV adds a racy dimension and I think they are on to something with this blend. The Mantones really are one of the standard bearers for great wine in Washington.

Delightful style of wine at a very reasonable price point.

Per my notes on the 2009. Very nice. The 2010 may not have as much fruit as the 2009, but still good.
