Clean light straw in glass, showing light aromas of stone fruit and apricot. First taste was a surprise, as there is a ton of richness on the palate, and some RS that is more typical of Alsace than Veneto. Very well-constructed, and unusually, more balancing acid shows up as the wine heats up. Drank very well at almost room temperature, and showed no off-flavors, just melon, peach, a bit of clementine and typical almond on the finish. No discernable minerality (also surprising), an almost Creamsicle quality in mid-palate, and a medium+ finish. Great pairing with mango-laced goat cheese, by the way.

Pale, a bit greenish yellow color. Restrained yet beautiful, fresh nose of grapefruit, peach and some nutty/leesy sur lie aromas. Medium bodied, a bit oily mouthfeel. For the most part the taste is really dominated by fresh leesy lemon flavor, which then gives room to a very distinct almondy finish. The taste starts off a bit shy but gradually gains more confidence and power. While the wine is very dry and has good acidity there's nice richness to it that makes it very approachable and drinkable. It's not really a wine that amazes you with the first sip, but rather one that slowly yet surely wins you over with its refined and delicate beauty. If one decides to do the Soave diet, there is a bunch of worse Garganegas out there. At least when it comes to taste, that is.

GRAPE VARIETIES: 90% GARGANEGA, 10% CHARDONNAY ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 13,0%
Appearance: Clear, medium lemon. Clean nose of medium(+) intesity, youthful. Aroma characteristics: green, citrus and stone fruit (gooseberry, lemon, peach) with a strong mineral note (sea breeze). Dry on the palate with medium/medium(+) acidity. Medium alcohol, medium bodied. Pronounced intensity. Aroma characteristics are mirrored on the palate with the addition of a marked kernel note on the finish (hazelnut/nougat). Long finish.
Garganega really doesn't get much better than this. The slow transformation of fresh fruit into dry nuttiness on the palate makes me particularly happy. Excellent value. Ready to drink, but will keep. 91/100
