Lovely Leroy floral nose with some developed secondary flavors. Medium plus palate that is full and rounded, lots of fruit yet never too full or burly. Not a hint of heat, just very lush layers and layers of fruit with a long finish to match. One of the best Leroy Pommard tried.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Immediately showed perfumed Leroy character aromatically. Very fresh red fruit with baking spice hints, making me thik this from Vosne. Lush, ripe and fresh, which made me think this possibly from 2006. Very impressive for its level and vintage, in fact much better than I remember when I last tried this shortly after release.

Kaleidoscopic nose - spice, red and black fruit. Sexy, and characteristic Leroy. Certainly ripe, and even a bit of alcohol, but the raw elements show through and keeps it both interesting and eminently enjoyable. Big without being overblown. Still very young. Delicious.

Surprising amount of sulfur on the nose. Richly textured. Forward, but pretty dark fruits and floral notes. Well structured. Well above standard village-level quality. Very nice, nose needs time to resolve.

(Leroy Pommard Les Vignots) Deep cherry-red - only slighty paler than the 03 Dugat-Py. The nose is rounder and more forward than the D-P, just a little reduced at the start but there’s lots of disparate complexity. Somehow the palate is also less ‘together’ than the D-P; it’s fresher, got more tannin and lots of coffee-bean in the mouth - significantly more apparent complexity but like the nose, little apparent cohesion. Longer than the D-P; if all the parts come together this could be a very, very good wine.

Deep red fruit. Flashy, opulent wine with ripe fruit and floral accents. Firm tannins. Very pretty wine.
