  Nice balance and fruit is still present but jammy and there is a nice cool graphite quality. Ready to go but no rush.4-

  Northern Rhone WIMPS (La Trompette, Chiswick): Dark fruit, touch of fruit pastille about it, blackberries, some meatiness on the palate, soft tannins, fresh acids, good length, harmonious fiinish. Drinking well, probably at peak now.

  Northern Rhone WIMPS #163 6th April 2023 (La Trompette, Chiswick): Strawberry fruit, kirsch and a little slatey / graphite on the nose here. Some hawthorn too. Later some olive brine and some Maraschino cherry. Palate is getting there although like a number of today's wines the tannins are not fully resolved. A lovely drop.

  Dark purple red. Nose of Peppery damson fruit, underlain by scented leather. Medium to medium-full bodied; leathery, serious. Decent length. Still young (?)
