  • Just opened pnp. Raisin on nose long legs and and great acidity with tannins still showing some edge. Medium body and tart fruit, rasberry on the front of palate. Still a bit 'green'

As glass warms, the inky tannins begin to show, slight bandaid on the nose.

-- I changed my impression of this wine. Day two it still showed quite a bit of tannin. Mind you, I did not intend to drink the bottle, but the tannin was still very drying. The third day was much more enjoyable showing quality bordeaux blend complexity. You would not classify this as fruit forward. Lesson to be learned is to always decant.

Second bottle. This can handle two days decanting in the wine fridge. It softens all the tannins and shows wonderfully. Confirms my impression about it.

  • - Brick color with medium forming legs. It's in total harmony with a full body. Round texture with a long finish - took it for a meal with friends, the first taste on opening was very disapointing, even considered going to get another bottle, carafed it, friends ended up an hour late soit waited for 2 hours and then i must say that it was extremly pleasing, cannot describe it as most do, i just know we really enjoyed it

  • WIML89

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about 90 minutes.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of berries, currants and plums. Flavors of berries, plums and raspberries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink over the next 2-3 years. Drinking really well.

NOTE: not sure what the other 3 public tasting notes on CellarTracker were smelling but there is no "funk" here.

  • After reviewing other comments I lowered my expectations greatly. We opened this as the Thanksgiving meal was being prepared and enjoyed during the cooking. The nose was not as funky as I guessed but heavy on the minerals. I did notice the strong tannins and a little tar. Over all I was pleased, not impressed. For the money there are many more South African reds I would prefer.

  • As someone else put, it's funky. Tannins coat your tongue making it hard to even swallow. Not recommended even with more age I think it will still be off.
