  • Mini vertical taste flight of 1982,1983,1984 and 1988.

I have tasted 1982 sixth time including this, with similar notes earth, toast, black fruits, spice, charr wood, violet. Medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. Tannin is integrated and velvety. Long years ahead. Did not decant but thru experience, decanting > 1 hour will certainly improve the nose.

1983 surprise me and friends, my third time tasting including this. It have a more pronounced nose than 1982, and drinking at its peak now. 1983 underrated due to the outstanding 1982. The notes are similar with 1982 earth, toast, black fruits, spice, charr wood, violet but have a shorter length and 1983 less ’explosive’

1984 is my first time tasting it. It’s still holding up well but pale in comparison when compare to 1982 and 1983. It’s at its tail end of drinking cycle with similar notes of 1982, 1983. Differences been medium acidity, medium tannin and medium finish. Overall still a very well make wine

1988 was my second time drinking. Ageing beautifully the way it should be. At its peak of drinking window with notes of truffle, earth, spices, toast. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Still have many years ahead.

  • Pretty much past time but agree with other notes on the NOSE! Wow! Still special to open a 40 year old bottle

  • Potent nose. Spicy like a good Mouton should be. Some herbal notes, but doesn't feel underripe. Bit of mushroom and white chocolate. Varnish. Very layered.

Surprisingly thick texture, sweet on entry, quite a bit of acid. Tannins appropriate for the age but overall structure is a bit fragile. Finish is of decent length, but watery and not especially satisfying.

    God it smells good though.
