this is a particularly good bottle (of the original 24 halves), light orange old-gold colour, lovely complex nose, deep, rich, distinct Botrytis hints adds to complexity, has more lift and finesse than some of the bottles, palate rich, certainly sweet but kept in check by the lovely acidity and slight Botrytis bitterness toward finish, long and with persistence in the mouth, top bottle at its peak (not all were this good)

again one of the better bottles, correlates with the paler gold colour, luscious multifaceted nose, palate rich, quite sweet, kept well in check by sufficient acidity and the restrained typical hardness / bitterness, good wine and nice drinking alone but lacks the finesse and class to be in the top rank, just a touch coarse and clumsy

one of the better bottles, excellent colour, pale gold with only minor orange, quite lovely nose, fresh, complex, nuanced, palate with good depth and length, clean finish with slightest hint of botrytis bitterness at the finish, which keeps it all together, just shows how variable bottles can be at this age and this one was good

advanced old gold colour, still enjoyable but certainly showing its age and lacking balancing freshness and acidity

luscious nose, rich, sweet, old barley sugar, rich on the palate, lacks a little class and finesse but eminently drinkable
