This was one of my favorite wines of Berserkerfest. Awesomely smoky with tobacco and cedar, like a great Brunello. The palate is almost Burgundian supple, delicate, much more feminine than the nose. Beautifully nuanced. A great bottle.

Pre-Christmas Offline (Rotisserie Jules, London): Deep brick-red to garnet. Nice mellow nose. Dusty fruit, plums and hints of cherry. Italian acidity, quite positive on entry then a little muted and fairly short. Nice though.

Dark red. Younger nose than the casuccia. Nose of cigars / damp cigars. Slightly sweet, with dark red fruits, nice acids, and a touch of barnyard. More traditional than the Casuccia but the nose is offputting to me.
