Atlas Peak Tasting. My day to enjoy Syrah which is unusual for me, lovely nose of red fruit-almost cherry nose and spice box, more of the same on the palate, medium body, lovely taste, medium/long finish.

Surprising amount of red fruits for a syrah but plenty of black fruits underneath. No green elements as are so common with the '08s

Winery Tastings, Napa, May 2012; 5/17/2012-5/20/2012 (Coombsville, Howell Mountain, Moss Creek, Calistoga, Spring Mountain, Rutherford, Pritchard Hill): (A-) Lovely syrah. They obviously were striving for a french style wine and they got it. Lovely underlying spice and flowers. Light syrah where you can actually taste the acidity rather than the alcohol. Well worth the price.
