Cabernet-Merlot-Ancellota blend. Tasted at domain and at home with consistent notes. This is the premium cuvée of the house, created with a clear nod towards Bordeaux but expressing a local flavour, according to the winemaker. Looking good in the glass, garnet, thick extraction. Starts off well, Claret-like from a good vintage, ripe fruits, obligatory cedar but mostly dominated by blackcurrant and some cherry. Plush on the palate, luxurious, silky, yet powerful. Fully integrated tannins back up blackcurrant and again that bitter-almond spice. Impressive length. A serious wine. The name obliges but I have to say it delivers, Equilibrium indeed. Drink now - 2014. Good value.
