Honeyed apples, with intense malic acid that dries the palate despite all the residual sugar. A bit of peach and pear along with some flinty minerality at the mid-palate. A bit of petrol on the nose, but hard to detect once you sip.

Kork. Duft av våt papp som skygger over det meste. Merkes også i munn, men ikke like godt. Fabelfaktig syre og balanse, godt moden, gul, sødmeull frukt. Utrolig bra konsentrasjon og lengde. Men korken fortsyrrer for mye også her for å gi nok glede. Denne går i retur. Ellers er dette utvilsomt en stor vin!
Hands down, one of the best 2010 Rieslings I've had from Germany. So primary now, a powerhouse of ripe Meyer lemon, peach and tropical fruits with a vivid slatey mineral base beneath, but the acidity here feels electric - so intense and vibrant, giving it incredible lift and cut, another wow wine on a night full of them.

Willi Schaefer Tasting (Graach, Germany): The nose shows plenty of pie crust wrapped around some faint green apples. The apple scents remind me of apples that have been baked a bit, and some mineral notes show themselves as well. Incredible texture bowled me over as soon as I tasted the wine. Elderflower flavors mingle with green apples that sit high on the palate. Acidity creeps down from the front to the sides of the palate to settle in around the molars, forcing you to smile. A touch of something herbal shows toward the back end. I think it may be sage, but my herbal palate isn't very focused. This wine is wonderful!

(Willi Schaefer Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese) ($89.00) Again, the only one. Here we have a forthright, scrutable Auslese, jammed with fruit and with pointed acidity.
