no notes but remember this was very very good, rich of course but with fantastic fruit / spice blend (not at all Cali fruit style) and with a load of acid to create a nice grip and to balance the bigness… really a great wine to serve to guests to show off how burgundy is different (without stretching their minds too much)

nose - raspberry, tutti-fruiti, caramel, incense, with a hint of burnt rubber. Wild nose. mouth - concentrated dark berry fruits on the attack, almost liqueur like in richness, with a prominent roasted/smoky oak meets dirt/mushroom flavor on the midpalate. Good backend acidity to keep it lively. At 10 years out it has some brandy like qualities that i find intriguing. Though not the freshest of red burgundies, it has interesting secondary flavors that made me prefer it as a stand alone sipper to an accompaniment with food. I would drink this sooner rather than later.
