  • This was one of the last of the 300 or so bottles I shipped back to the US after living in France for two years. I believe I bought this bottle at the winery, probably for less the $10.00! I think that Stefanos has nailed it: this is a light bodied, somewhat austere wine, that nevertheless packs a lot of complexity and flavor. Wonderful, bramble, woodsy aromas are in the bouquet. Although the tannins are pretty much evolved, the wine is kept lively on the palate through its acidity. The finish is long and snappy. I would definitely drink this up if you have any -- a previous bottle I opened a few months ago went down the drain, so I'm certain there is nothing to be gained from waiting!

  • Light garnet colour fading to tawny, very lucid, clear and healthy looking. Perfectly mature wine, elegant and complex with aromatic intensity of cherry and strawberry jam, dried rose petals, sweet spices, especially cinnamon and cedar wood and some elegant animal nuances. Also old plummy fruit, some vegetal aromas, smoke, tobacco and wet dried leaves. Elegant, light to medium bodied, refreshing, not overpowering and perfectly balanced. Palate is flavorful with old wood, spice, coffee, cherry liqueur and vegetality. Perfectly mature wine. Beautiful and lean wine with elegance, length, flavour and a lovely bouquet. Just excellent!
