Truffles and a couple of bottles: Floral, musk, marshmallow, red liquorice and lemon. Great mix of ripe, pure fruit and BdB minerality. Delicious, with texture and very good layered complexity. Great flow and persistence. Awesome.

Similar showing to the last bottle, but a touch more advanced. Explosive aromatics of steely, chalky minerality, ripe fruit, sweet spices, marzipan, nutty notes, ripe pear and earthy notes too. It's medium-full bodied, dense but in a weightless style. It has small creamy mousse, beautiful tension of high acidity and minerality, with excellent length. Another superb showing.

This exploded out of the bottle - literally. Upon gently removing the cork, the wine erupted like a volcano. The bottom of the cork was not smoothed. It was roughed and bumpy. Not sure whether there is any connection there. This had been stored on its side for several years in the cellar so the eruption had nothing to do with shipping etc. Really odd. The wine itself was good but nothing special, as the $110+ price tag would suggest. Nice crispness for a BdB. Creamy with orchard fruits. Doughy. Finish is clean and precise. A nice Champagne but probably not worth the price tag.

Medium pale golden color. Expressive and slightly aged notes of vegetables, citrus, ripe apple and pear, abricot, some smoke and a touch of minerality, as well as some earthy/mushroom kind of quality. There are also some aging notes of hazelnuts, marzipan and honey developping. It's medium-full bodied, dense with great mid-palate density, creamy mousse of small bubbles, pretty high acidity providing beautiful freshness. Excellent length. A fantastic perfectly mature Blanc de Blancs from this amazing producer. Love the combination of richness and tension.

Sulfurous nose upon opening. With time notes of grapefruit, carambola, flowers, cream and fine autolysis. Medium bodied on the dry palate with smooth moussé and rather exquisite mouthfeel as a whole. Fruit accentuated by saline character, bisquity autolysis, cream, mushrooms and refreshing after-bitterness. Nice stuff. But because of the sulfur this needs either more age or decanting. Can't say if decanting would kill the mouthfeel. Can't risk that.
