Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • FWS Bourgogne Class: With aged White Bourgogne I always worry a little. The cork on this one looked like it had almost completely soaked through. When poured in the glass it was noticeable darker than any of the Chardonnays tonight. Luckily for us this was drinking perfectly. I actually hate when the most expensive wine shows to be the best, but tonight this was the best Chardonnay. Baked apple, cinnamon, clove, marzipan and still a hint of lemon acidity. Elevated body, but not heavy. The wine could have aged another 10 years, assuming that cork held up. If all chardonnay tasted like this I would drink it more often!
