Drunk over two days days. First vintage from Julian Haart, bought at release. Clear, medium lemon-golden color, still very youthful. Clean, medium+ intense, youthful-developing nose. Lots of ripe yellow fruit, Orange and citrus zests, orange blossoms, lots of stony mineral notes. Very deep, dense, complex and fresh!
On the palate off-dry with a medium+ to high, wonderful integrated acidity. 12,5% abv. Tart fruit, candied orange peel, bitter orange, lots of stony mineral notes, apricot and herbs. Almost oily in texture, but in a very positive sense. Blind I would have guessed a Grand Cru from Alsace. Very deep, lots of pressure and juicy. Certainly old school style, but soo good. Incredible length with lots of grapefruit and bitter orange notes. So sad, that this was my only bottle. It has at leas another decade of potential! Great first vintage! 92-93
