Medium reddish purple in color. Nose is of stewed cherries and cough syrup. Palate is very simple...cherries, maybe a hint of cranberry and toast. Significant tannins for a Pinot, and a tart, short finish. Somewhat disappointing.

King Estate? Not sure why, but it resembles all of the negatives of King Estate, but none of the good. Is it because they call it "reserve"? In any event, not much going on here, and I would steer clear.

This light-to-medium ruby wine was popped (actually unscrewed) and serially tasted at 60-65 degrees Fahrenheit. The nose is moderately intense and shows aromas of cocoa, cola and raspberry. Light-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, light sweet tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 13.5%). The middle palate is (surprisingly) OK and the finish is medium-length. This is a very "serviceable" Pinot at a great price price. Drink now-12/12.
