Regular dinner group (@ My place): The bouquet shows some development and brioche. Same on the palate, mild mousse, nuts, good complexity and very drinkable. Some participants thought this was something really great like Bollinger RD.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #127; Champagne plus some extra's (By AH): Complex bouquet with nuts, medicine, yeast, brioche, apple and some reductive impressions. On the palate dry, minerals, ripe apples, nuts, almonds, good acidity and bitterness. Soft mousse. There is some development in the wine. Overall good complexity and length.

Wonderful, classic, yeasty nose. I also pick up nuances of almondpaste, gravel, miso, mushroom, seaweed and lemon peel. Alas, on the palate this lacks tension and complexity, and the finish is clipped. This is a step back from their gorgeous 2002 millésime. Nose 92, palate 86.

Gang of 5 in Covid19 times; Champagne and sweet wines (@ RW): In the bouquet overripe apple, brioche and minerals. Full bodied and tasty in the mouth, macaroons, medium acidity and not bone dry. Certainly a beautiful bubble.
