  • This pours deep gold in the glass. The nose is fairly muted over the course of the 4 hours followed. Aromas are of ripe pear, dried peach, dried apple, honey, cold steel, and a light touch of wool. The palate enters on ripe pear and dried peach against medium plus acid, keeping this very fresh. You can tell this was probably made a pinch off dry, but today there is little to no perceptible residual sugar. Initially it felt as if there was a touch of nutty oxidation on the finish but that lessens with time and is barely noticeable after a few hours. The finish really speaks to Loire Chenin Blanc with honeycomb and orchard fruit prominently on display. All in all, this has aged well and is an enjoyable drink but is not terribly complex.
