  • Roasted fruits, funk and leather on the nose and the palate. Lighter style but strong acidity and a very dry leathery finish. Quite fresh but too much of the roasted and almost green component for my taste.

  • Fairly muted nose for a rhone wine, and not showing the age nearly as much as I expected. There was a bit of harshness in the acidity at first, but it mellowed out after about an hour. It was still a little sharp and not quite fruity/delicious enough. But overall, quite nice and holding up well for its age. A bargain at $10.

  • This has held-up well for a lowly "Vin de Pays." A fully mature Northern Rhone that started off with a bretty nose at the beginning which blew off after about an hour. Then it showed aromas of leather, black and red berry fruit, smoked meat, olives, black pepper and a little bit of herbs and mineral. Resolved tannins with a fairly smooth, medium-bodied texture with just a touch of rusticity, its still has good acidity with tart blackberries, plum and spice on the palate. Decent length showing mineral and spice on the finish. Nice balance overall and recommendable for those who appreciate a lighter and softer St. Joseph style. Drink soon.
