  • Still delicious, but getting a little muddled on the palate. Not sure if it's in an in between place, or if this is beginning of the slow decline. It's lost a good bit of the crispness that offset the phenolics from the skin; still speaks of Roussanne however. Maybe like it's Rhone siblings, this will shut down for a few years and come back a changed animal. I'd love to know, but this was my last bottle, and I love them so much young, I will probably never find out - unless there's a library release in 10 years...

  • My past experience with DAG roussanne did not prepare me for this orange wine. Opened while cooking it seemed tannic, tired and tedious. Maybe Good, Very Good at best. Pairing it with garlic chicken with anchovy-lemon sauce it's a completely different story. The food and wine enhance each other. The Stone Crusher becomes explosive with myriad fruits, zinging acidity and a long finish. I have never seen such a dichotomy in taste as in this one with and without food. But make it the right kind of match, something with the heft and acidity of this chicken dish. Excellent to Outstanding.

  • Utterly bizarre from the orange tones to the nose of hard cider. Sweet on the palate and then bracingly acidic on the finish. Super interesting. Not for everyone or everyday, but one to come back to.

  • Utterly bizarre, from the color reminiscent of an orange wine to the nose of hard cider. Sweet on the palate and then bracingly acidic on the finish. One of the strangest wines I've had, but not unpleasant. More interesting than enjoyable, but still I would try it again.
