Decanted for two hours. Toasted smokey oak on the nose with carries through on the palate. This is a big, extracted, full bodied syrah and the heat is evident. Also borders on being somewhat syrupy.

Nice dark fruit on the nose, but leads to the single most "charred rare ribeye" I've ever encountered. I will update if it changes overnight, but man right now it is hugely one dimensional.
Update (days 2 & 3): This definitely is a "air is its friend" wine, as it held up for 2 more days, so you're likely looking at a 2025 window at a minimum. The smoke and bacon absolutely falls off after day, but it never leaves. It's still a bit one dimensional, but certainly becomes a lot more enjoyable with the air and the bit of acid that cuts the fat. I'd say this has a 91-92 type point potential, but it's lacking the complexity that you'd hope for at this price point.
