  • My adventure with this wine did not start very well. First, despite the use of a special corkscrew for old wines, half of the cork was left in the bottle. When pouring the wine into the decanter, I saw its hazy orange color, I thought that my 53 € I spent on this drink was wasted. In addition, small particles of impurities, even after 15 minutes, traveled freely in the wine. Fortunately, my fears quickly dissipated as soon as I smelled the wine and took the first few sips. Smell - truck load of prunes,...cigar boxes, raisins, but also some flowers (what a surprise!) and candy( wow).
All aromas are in full harmony with each other ( nothing heavy or aggressive)
Taste - again prunes, sweet prunes, tea, spice, candy bubble gum. No tannins of course, but soft acidity is here.
Amazing experience amazing with amazing 55 year old wine?
    1. Produttori Barbaresco is cooperative.
    2. They have 9 different vineyards
    3. In each vintage, the juice from these crus is blended to produce a single Barbaresco which is one of the great wine values not only of Italy, but the world. But in great years, part of the production of each vineyard is set aside for an additional year of aging and for separate bottling as a single-vineyard Riserva.
    4. Rabaja ( Rabaya on 1967 vintage bottle!) is 1 of 9 'crues'
    5. 1967 vintage is an important one for Produttori, since this was the first harvest in which the cantina bottled single-cru wines.
