Second favorite out of four wines served at our race day party. I liked this better than the 2014 Silencieux and 2012 Bone Ash Cab, but not as much as the 2013 Robert Young Scion. The tannins are smooth and the wine is rich with berry fruit cocoa and mint. Great with brisket.

Can't believe I found this vintage at a local wine store. I was curious to see what 8 years of age would do for this wine. I decanted for an hour and poured a glass. Nice nose with casis, espresso, cranberry and blackberry, which carry over to the palate. Tannins were still substantial. Poured wine back into the bottle, vacuvined and put in the fridge overnight. Poured a glass the next evening and let it come to room temperature. The wine had really opened up and was beautiful. Smooth tannins with a long finish. This wine can easily go another five years. Great juice.

Very fruit forward day 1. Opened up nicely into Day 2. Smooth and highly enjoyable as expected from Venge.
