This is superb. Strong pure menthol and Eucalyptus. Big damson fruit but well balanced. Lovely tension and energy. Some nice tertiary leather but still quite primary. Very long and complex. Drinking perfectly now. Expect it to last a long time.

After almost 25 years in bottle, still holding strong, dark crimson colour (no brick at all) and medium-strong body. Noticeable acidity at first sip, red fruits started to kick in after 1.5 hours decant. No problem to sit in the cellar for another 5 to 10 years. Very enjoyable and meaningful for the very memorable first vintage of RWT.

Twenty-Five years of age when we opened it. What a special treat. Wine had a deep crimson color (no brown hints at all) with a slightly brick rim. Bright aromas of dark cherry, chocolate, mushroom, menthol and roasted herbs. Pallet featured all of the above along with hints of baking spices, eucalyptus and plum. Quite earthy. Reasonably long finish and extremely silky tannins. The wine has mellowed but there is still ample fruit, texture and acidity. Glad I held on to this one for a while.

Winefool Going Away Party and Cellar Depletion (Jack's Bistro - Chicago IL): Tasted 2 days ago, note from memory. Fresh and mature black fruit with dark chocolate and faint meat, all in complex combination. Probably my fav of the day.
