Almost always have good experiences with Freemark Abbey wines. This merlot was spot on with a pan seared ribeye with mushrooms and roasted potatoes and carrots. May have a little time left but drinking well now so why wait!

This wine had a purple/red center with bright red rims. The medium+ intensity nose showed cherries, plums, raspberries, and some soil.
In the mouth, this wine was very ripe and fruity but had some nice soil flavors in the background. The acidity was a bit light and the rounded tannin was almost imperceptible under the fruit. However, my guess is this wine will actual age reasonably well.
While not a great wine by any means, this is a nicely crafted wine that will drink well now or last. As always, give it as much advance decanter time as you can. Drink at you leisure as I doubt it will pick up additional points.

Another Napa fruit bomb! I really enjoyed this Merlot. Fruit, oak, and a medium (perhaps slightly long) finish, which is perfect for a Napa Merlot.
