Quite dark color; almost opaque blackish red. Initially jammy sweetness, ripe currant and red berries on the slightly reticent nose. However, as the wine opens, interesting hints of mint, butterscotch and forest floor emerge: after one hour there is a lot more interesting stuff happening in the nose. The mid-bodied palate is slightly bland with ripe red berries and slightly herbaceous notes. The overall appearance is dry, somewhat tannic and nicely structured with crunchy acidity. Rather short finish bar the faint red berry aroma that lingers on. A mediocre red from the Southern France with a little distinction regarding its price point. Slightly start and surprisingly oldworldy for a Languedoc. An OK buy for 9,48€.
