Expressive and lifted nose dominated by ripe orchard fruits (pear), a caramel element. Herbs. Really fragrant and complex. Tea. On the palate this has caramel again, mouth-coating richness allied with puckering acidity. Decent levels of power and concentration. Honey on the finish. Really good although lacking the drive and focus you expect from PYCM at this level, consistent with my other experiences of his 10s.

Second bottle in a month, this time alongside PYCM's 10 Criots. Showed bigger, brawnier and oakier. PYCM has a bit of reputation for putting the winemaking fingerprint a bit heavily on the wines, but here the terroirs shone through clearly, despite them being geographically and geologically so similar.

Incredible density and concentration. The table was split between this and the Leflaive '13 Batard, the completely different house styles showing - PYCM tight, mineral, structured and reductive while the Lefalive was fruit driven, open and generous. I personally preferred the power and density of the PYCM

Simple. One dimensional alongside the Ramonet BM 2010. Didn’t develop well in glass.

Almost too bold and some alcohol peeks out. Lavishly apricot fruity, oaky and extravagant. Still it has better balance than its California imitators.
