  • This is an Amarone of Valpollicella. The wine is garnet in color with the rim not true to the core given the age. The viscosity is high (15%abv). The nose is just nirvana with black cherry , blackberry and tobacco. The palate confirms the nose with a perfect balance of acidity and tannins ... a never ending finish that leaves you with the desire for more. This is a nectar of the Gods, just unbeliable wine to be drank as meditation wine in front of a fireplace or with game dishes and appetizers made with prosciutto and salame. PM: 96

  • Decanted 2 hrs before Roasted Duck / Pig ribs and all the other Christmas traditionals, incl. pickled red cabbage. Strong and powerful wines managing the challenge, and quite spicy with pebber too.
But Amarone is simply way to much dark fruit and sweetness to me, and all to little tannins.
The guests had the Amarone, I took a CdP for myself - Glad I did so

  • Almost black in the glass with brownish rim, almost port like. Black cherries and raisins on the nose with hints of citrus fruits and vanilla. Fruit forward, mild acidity with the expected mild bitterness of an Amarone. A bit warm on the finish. Overall, a rather enjoyable wine.

  • Decanted for 30 min. On the nose ripe dark fruit and a whiff of oak. Rather full bodied on the palate, robust and supple, showing nice dark cherries with a good dusty bite on the longish finish. A bit of licorice, oak and heat coming through as well. Overall good balance and still quite youthful. Very nice.

  • Clear, medium garnet colour with presence of slightly inky legs. Clean medium intensity developing nose with black cherries, blackberries, liquorice, cedar and earthy notes. In the mouth it's off-dry with medium acidity, medium+ tannins, medium+ alcohol, medium+ body, medium+ intensity flavours of black cherries, blackberries, cedar, clove and liquorice. Medium+ finish. Very good quality, drink now but has potential for further ageing.
