  • I was afraid I had cellared this one too long, but it's ok. Plum and minerality on the nose as well as oak. High acid, medium body, high tannins. This one needs long decanting - tasted very bitter at 30 minutes; mellowed out nicely at 2 hours. Drinkable, but definitely past its prime.

  • Decanted 1 hour. Fresh, open nose of red fruit with a slight vegetal note, menthol, and earth. Plum and cherries on the front end, followed by a deep mid palate with mouth-filling spice. I definitely recommend decanting. Great bargain.

  • We got three cases of this wine at a low cost from a restaurant that was closing. First bottle we drank didn't really do much for us. But we tried a second bottle and it began to grow on us. We think it pairs well with spicy food. When we openend the second bottle, we didn't drink all of it. We still had 3/4 of the bottle left. We let is sit (with the cork in it) for a week or so because we went out of town. Came back and drank it and found that it had a real bite to it. Vey good flavor and a bit of a burn as you let it go down. So now I'm glad we have 3 cases of this. I think that the trick is to let it breath a while.

My wifes comments are that is is medium dark, lots of fingers, and has a fruit bouquet, lots of fingers on the glass, and a peppery burn. :-)

  • A little higher in tannin than I would like but a generally enjoyable Catalunya wine. Grenache based with syrah, carignan, tempranillo and merlot components, it works fairly well. A little bit hot on the palate. Not bad for the price but I'd prefer spending a bit more and significantly improving QPR.

  • Earlier versions had more depth. A bargain at $10. Great with Mexican food.
