  • Lemon, slight green tints. Citrusy nose, with salt laden breeze n slight herbal aspect. Palate mirrors nose with citrus and briny minerality. Reminiscent of Santorini flavour profile without razorsharp acidity or depth.

  • This also made an impression on me at Dionysia 2011 (but not as much as the 2002 Merlot). Now tasted at the winery 31/8/2011. Peloponessian Assyrtiko from organic grapes. Light lemon. Medium intensity nose of citrus fruit & blossoms later a hint of underripe peach, granny smith apples and salty minerality (the vineyard is a few kilometres from the coast). Medium body, flavours of citrus fruit, granny smith apples, again underripe peaches and salty minerality on the palate too. Medium + acidity and a good length on the finish. This isn't Santorini by any stretch of the imagination and I don't know how well it will age but it is a nice mainland version.
