Rare chance as the winemaker I get to taste this, as only a small holdback amount left, poured today for wine club.
This wine, Roussanne based, has continued to evolve nicely, and if anyone has in there cellar (doubtful), will continue to do so.
Complex nose of apricot, honey, ripe fruit. (despite being dry at <14% alc.) Dense, viscous, mouth with layers of honeyed fruit, pear, caramel. Will miss this wine, but excited to release the 2011 blend shortly.

A clear, pale straw color with a nose of medium intensity and a wonderful minerality underscoring apricots, green apple, pears, and melon. The palate is clean and the nose carries through along with orange blossoms and citrus oil. The medium-plus body and mouth watering medium-plus acidity lead to a pleasant and long finish. This is such an enjoyable white Rhone blend. Bravo, William Allen!

Super expressive, with honeydew melon, pear, and lemon notes on a mid weight frame, chased by a grainy minerality and ample acidity. Love the honeyed, waxy texture. This wine somehow toes the line between opulent and elegant, with no shortage of character.

Notes of lemon pith, peach, wet rock, and flowers on the nose. Good acidity leads to a rich mid-palate of stone fruit then the acidity fades back in and carries the finish away cleanly. A very linear, focused wine. Excellent, glad I have more of this.

Winery Profile & Review: Two Shepherds: SRP: $24. Case Production: 50. Fermented & aged for 6 months in neutral oak. Blended from 47% Marsanne, 47% Roussanne, and 6% Viognier. The nose is bright, sweet, and complex – offering notes of cantaloupe, Asian pear, and honeycrisp apple, along with a hint of honey, toffee, and citrusy Asian spices and orange rind. On the palate, the wine has some real weight and offers nice acidity – but it’s a bit oily. Some heat rears its head at the finish.
