Oof. Tired. Def should've drank this already. Cork stained 1/4 way up. Very deep golden color. Smells oxidated with apple, lemon, and iron. Full body, medium acid and finish, with flavors of oxidated apple, pear, and a tinny metallic note. Over the hill, which doesn't bode well for the '09 and '07 I'm still holding. C'est la vie.
Edit: Corked and fridged about half and returning next evening, this is considerably better, if lower acidity and a bit flabby. The oxidative funk effect is lessened, and it's overall a savory, balanced wine.

These are supposed to be age-worthy, and not sure if this is just a little too long, or if it's just the style, but definitely oxidative in nature here, and I've got a couple of '07s and '09s as well, so, there's that.
Deep golden color. Smells like overripe peach and nectarine, sourdough, a bit of floral, and some oxidative calvados like apple. Full bodied, medium to medium (+) acid and finish, with flavors of lemon, ginger, peach jolly rancher, apple, pear, and cinnamon. Certainly an interesting wine, although definitely for the geeks and not everyone. We had it over a couple of nights with fish and chicken, but it seems more suited to standalone and contemplative sipping.

Nose > Rich, full, sharp, slightly pungent; Lanolin. Palate > Fat, slightly pungent richness balanced by med/med+ acidity. Finishes dry, with slightly bitter fruit & touch of (skin?) tannin. Some ripe, & tart yellow orchard stone fruit. Love the balance. Would not have guessed 11 years old if tasted blind. Excellent food wine. (88+)

OK, I’ll say this first: This is the weirdest white wine I think I’ve had in a very long time. Very unusual. Nose is butterscotch, cured meat, petrol, rubber, citrus, herb. Palate is much the same; some apple in there too.
This was recommended by a wine store manager who knows we dig the oxidative style of white wine, and other unusual, off-the-beaten-path whites, and she was dead-on in suggesting this. Quite nice!

Ok I'm biased because my grandmother was from Marche and I've been there and had the pleasure of enjoying their incredibly unique food - this is as real as white wine can get in my opinion. I've had this with whole snapper and it's done equally well with Turkish meatballs and pearl couscous. This is one I'd like to have in my cellar every year.
