  • What a power wine! Extremely rich, it throws you back and forth, every sip new surprises. Deep yellow, Fresh and spicy, floral, almond, honey. This wine asks your full attention. What an experience.

  • So good to revisit this after 8 years. The wine was rich and powerful with honeysuckle, herbs, nectar, custard and baked apple. Despite the hot vintage, the wine retained good freshness to compliment the baby fat from the terroir. I am surpised how well this is holding up. A really punchy and classic BBM.

  • Sappy, intense, and rich. I took a flyer on a single bottle and sometimes these one-off bets pay off. Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of old white Burgundy, but when bottles are on, you can definitely tell that they're on. This poured with a fairly troubling colour at first, and to be honest I had some reservations that this was oxidized. But then this seemed to pick up more and more freshness, and coupled with a floral, honeyed element this became quite a serious bottle of wine. The finish does feel a little bitter, but there's also so much concentration and extract that it's almost like a flavour overload. I'm pretty convinced at this point that Louis/Jacques Carillon is one of my s-tier white Burgundy producers.

  • Dark gold color. Very rich honey note on the nose and palate. It would take time to open up in the glass. A very big wine with long length and intensity. 93+

  • Opulent aromas of caramel and brown butter and spice. Aromas can barely be contained by the glass. On the palate there is immense richness, concentration, and length, finishing with some minerality. This is a big big wine---delicious to be sure, but it's almost too much.
