Very modern and extracted in its approach. Glycerine, fig paste and smoke on the dense nose. On the palate, fine tannins and medium acid provide a base for the smoked cherry, plum skins and liqeuer flavors that follow. Lots of fig and blackberry on the finish. Modern, but pure and quite delicious.

Small taste. Dark purple to black in color. Nose of blackberries, paint, crushed rock. Palate of blackberries, little herbs, paint, and crushed rock. finish was average in length. Overall the wine was a solid bottle, not too complex, not to over the top.

New Releases at Weygandt (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Lots of paint and spices on the nose. This is a really big wine that could use some time or a decant. There's an explosion of blueberry and blackberry fruit, along with some dusty tannins.

Solid, better after 1 hr open. All red fruits, earth and light tannins, good, but not great.

Big, Bold and Bright. Still there is something that keeps this from turning into a modern styled wine, enough nuance to not just be a big fruit bomb.
