  4 hours open, still dense and chewy. Well made wine that could age for another decade.

  Opened 2 hours before dinner. Initial nose showed red and dark red fruits. Initial palate was the same with grippy tannins.
  After 1.5 hours of slo-ox, the nose opened up to increased aromas of red and dark red fruits. The palate showed the same, with tannins starting to soften. Then decided to decant for 30 minutes to hasten aeration - small amount of sediment present.
  At dinner, the wine showed an abundance of red and dark red fruits, still some unresolved tannins, and a touch of heat on the medium to plus finish. Good wine, bad QPR ($125 at winery).
  Would recommend a full decant - to remove sediment, and to achieve aeration - of at least an hour. The wine can be cellared for a couple more years, but am not certain that it will improve, just mellow.
