  • The acid dominates everything in this wine and makes it not enjoyable. Also a bit too much alcohol in my opinion. I have been tasting this wine over many years because I had bought too much of it also due to high scores (Parker 91pts) and the wine could not fulfill the high expectations. It hasn't improved over the years but also hasn't got worsened.

Second day: I really give up on this wine. Totally confirming the 1st day note and all my previous observations. This wine is just useful for cooking dishes not for drinking.

  • Although this wine is very palatable, I didn't quite agree with some of the higher scores that others gave this wine. Yes, it's held up fairly well for being eight plus years old but the acidity seemed to dominate the overall flavor and taste of my bottle. The fruit couldn't quite compete and keep up with the acidity levels thus leaving this wine slightly out of balance. I'd like to hear others voice their opinion but until I taste another bottle, my low score will remain.

  • Found a bottle of this in my cellar. This is a 60% carignan, 30% grenache, and 10% shiraz blend. Decanted for ~45 minutes.

We really enjoyed this wine. On the nose it had lots of red fruits, raspberry, and some vanilla. Has a ruby red color to it with a hint of age on the rim. No legs. On the palate it has a medium finish, good acidity. Considering this wine is about 9 years old now, I would say that it has held up very well. Probably drinking at its peak now. We had this with steak and it paired very well with it.

  • Not sure if America got a different blend than Europe, but this bottle has the blend listed as 50% Grenache, 40% Carignan and 10% Syrah. The Vinous review and other reviews have the Carignan as dominant varietal.

Scents of dark cherry, dark berry, red plum and floral pastilles meet aromas of vanilla, herbs, mineral and smoke and spice with hints of red apple skin and licorice.
On the palate this is firm and tart. Acidity is Moderate-plus. Tannins are firm and grippy boarding on astringent showing a hard press of the fruit. Flavors on the palate present again with red apple skins, tart cherry and dark and red berries. Violets, herbs, bramble and mineral round out the palate

Overall a good wine, much more aromatically pleasant than on the palate where it just seems slightly out of balance.

  • A Priorat red made from 60% Carignan, 30% Grenache and 10% Syrah:
D+0h: no deposit in the filter nor in the bottle, smells of raspberry D+0h: purple red, on the rim a little bit of cherry-red, in the nose cherry, blackberry and some eucalyptus, medium body, the 14 % are well integrated, has a dash of residual sugar left which is not unplesant, in the mouth blackberry and a kind of sour note (reminds me of green pepper), in the aftertaste blackberry and this sour note, good length (30 sec), a well made wine for a good price (I paid 9,69 Euro), but I guess the blend is simply not my cup of tea. Thus will not buy it again.
