  • Needed almost an hour of air for it to come out of its shell. Red cherries, mulberries, blackberries, herbs, earth, minerals, and some tertiary notes on a surprisingly tame nose. Blackberries, red cherries, tart plums, herbs, licorice, and earth on the palate. Mouthwatering acidity, grippy, slightly powdery tannins, medium finish with a lovely garrigue aftertaste. This bottle was quite solid, though perhaps a bit unexciting. That said, it worked well with dinner.

  • Nose nice elegant shy red fruit
Mouth full precis well balanced red fruit and hint of tobacco leaf
Final long elegant and well balance to be drink reach is peak but will remain at that level for 2 to 3 years

  • 3 hour decant. Lots of rich fruit yet here, with perhaps the mouvedre taking a nice center focus! Long nice finish with some tannic structure left. However the Rhone funk was prominent an did not blow off significantly. If one can get past the nose and an initial oxidative taste, it is in a really nice place. Paired nicely with pork chop with peach/bourbon glaze.

  • A terrific iteration of maturing 'neuf. Upon opening it hardly showed any age, although after an hour of slow-ox it started to reveal some tertiary tones. The fruit was red and fresh, and it was as elegant as a Chambolle, albeit slightly less charming. This is ready to drink, but I imagine it will cruise along for another 5 years or so.

  • dark red, crimson rim - somewhat restrained nose of back fruit, with white pepper and barnyard in the background - big full mouth, but fruit closed, acid and tannin predominating - 10-15 sec finish - not outstanding right now, but has the potential to achieve that in another 3-5 years
